Sherpherds Bush Road, London

Product brief:

A set of external concrete steps, belonging to apartments in Shepherds Bush Road, required a new, seamless waterproofing system as this was causing water ingress into the apartments below. The client requested a fast cure system which would keep disruptions to the residents at a minimum, therefore Proteus Waterproofing specified Pro-BW® Plus, a fully reinforced system, allowing a return to service within two hours from installation.

High Performance Waterproofing:

As the steps were used as the main entrance to the apartments, the client requested an anti-slip finish. To accommodate this, Pro-Aggregate EM was incorporated into the Pro-BW® Plus system, to provide a skid-inhibiting finish to allow foot traffic. Proteus Waterproofing worked closely with the Proteus Approved Contractor to ensure the project was completed to a high standard and within the allocated time frame.

Health and Safety:

When working on occupied buildings, on areas which may also form the fire escape route, the waterproofing system needed to be cold applied and fast cure. Using Pro-BW® Plus removed the risk of fire to the building and low noise application allowed the Proteus Approved Contractor to complete the work safely and meeting all health and safety criteria, ensuring disruptions were kept to a minimum.

Long Term Performance:

Pro-BW® Plus is a high performance, rapid curing protective waterproofing membrane for balconies and walkways making it ideal for refurbishment where structural movement has occurred. Pro-BW® Plus reduces installation time from days to hours. Suitable for a variety of external applications, Pro-BW® Plus can be installed on concrete & asphalt for communal and private balconies, walkways, staircases and pedestrian ramps. As it is a cold applied installation, the system meets health and safety criteria by minimising risk to both operatives and members of the public. Pro-BW® Plus is BBA Certified and made in the UK.
