Roof Guttering, Downs Leisure Centre, Seaford

At Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford, East Sussex, the felted gutter running the length of the main sports hall roof was blistering in places and was beginning to show signs of water ingress into the hall below. Whilst the main roof was still serviceable, the client Lewes District Council required the refurbishment of the existing felt gutter.

Product brief:

Proteus Pro-System was chosen for its cold seamless application, providing a tough elastomeric fully bonded system, which was fully compatible with the bitumen felt substrate. Being a seamless liquid membrane, Pro-System can easily be lapped onto at a later date providing the Council with the option to continue the system to the rest of the roof when funds allowed.

Key Requirements: Quality control

Proteus Waterproofing worked in close partnership with the licensed contractor to ensure the project was successfully delivered to a very high standard.

Key Requirement: Health and safety
When working on roofs, safety and minimal disruption are always of utmost importance. As Pro-System is cold installed, it meets all health and safety criteria for buildings and minimises risk of fire. The low odour, low noise application of Pro-System also allowed the licensed contractor to carry out the works while the sports hall was in full use and with no disruption.

Key Requirements: Long term performance
Pro-System offers a low maintenance, durable waterproofing and protection solution to a range of buildings. Proteus Waterproofing roof systems come in a range of 10, 15, 20 and 25 year options.
