Roof & Chimney Refurbishment, Cambridge Terrace, London NW1

On the outer circle of Regents Park, 1-5 Cambridge Terrace are five Grade I Regency houses built in 1825 and designed by celebrated architect John Nash. Currently undergoing a major refurbishment, the stunning 19th Century terrace required repairs to the main roof chimney pedestals which were in a poor state of repair.

With the brickwork and render requiring a comprehensive range of waterproofing solutions, Proteus Waterproofing was appointed to provide a complete roofing system incorporating Pro-System, Flexcrete Fastfill and Flexcrete Monodex Smooth.

Working on occupied buildings, particularly within cities, safety is always of utmost importance. Contractor SJ Construction was equipped to meet all health and safety criteria to work on these occupied buildings and minimise risk to operatives, building occupants and members of the public.

Key Requirements: Weatherproofing and Waterproofing

Proteus Waterproofing worked in close partnership with the contractor SJ Construction to successfully deliver the project to a very high standard. The remedial works were carried out using Flexcrete Fastfill and then waterproofed using Pro-System in Mid Grey. Two coats of Monodex Smooth were then applied to provide a high performance, elastomeric and decorative coating which provides protection against carbonation and water ingress, yet allows damp substrates to breathe.
