Lancaster House, a listed Edwardian building that had been converted into offices and residential flats, required a new waterproofing membrane as the existing waterproofing had reached the end of its lifespan and was allowing water ingress into the residential apartments. Proteus Waterproofing specified Proteus Pro-System® Plus, a low odour, cold applied system, incorporating a Proteus CTF scheme to minimise ponding.
High Performance Waterproofing
Proteus Pro-System® Plus was specified as a bespoke system could be offered that could effectively overlay the asphalt substrate without disturbing the listed features of the building. A tailored Proteus CTF scheme was designed to ensure proper drainage of the roof, by removing standing water. As there was a lot of detailing work, the use of Proteus Pro-System® Plus significantly reduced the work required as it can be easily moulded, without ruining the listed features. Proteus Waterproofing worked closely with the Proteus Approved Contractor to ensure the project was completed to a high standard.
Health & Safety
As Proteus Pro-System® Plus is low odour, it minimised the impact on the residents below and members of the public. The cold application removed the need for hot works, which was crucial on a roof with such historical value.
Long Term Performance
Proteus Pro-System® Plus offers a low maintenance, durable waterproofing and protection solution for a range of new build and refurbishment applications. Once cured, provides a completely seamless waterproof protection and has excellent UV stability, making it suitable to use in all climates. Proteus Pro-System® Plus forms a seamless, fully adhered membrane, manufactured in the UK and is BBA Certified.
