As part of the external refurbishment of a five-storey, Victorian mansion block in the heart of Bloomsbury, the landlord wanted to upgrade and extend the life of the existing communal balconies, landings and staircases. With the communal balconies waterproofed with asphalt and the landings and staircases concrete, Proteus Waterproofing supplied 150m2 of its Pro-BW® in dark grey to provide an anti-slip surface finish and improve the appearance of these communal areas.

Product brief:

The Pro-BW® system could be applied to all existing substrates and was laid in a two coat application by the licensed contractor. With each application only taking 45 minutes to cure and become trafficable, this helped to minimise disruption to the residents and ensured access to the private flats was not closed for any considerable length of time.

Pro-BW® ensured minimal disruption and inconvenience thanks to the fast-curing system allowing foot traffic within 45 minutes of the application. The use of Pro-BW® also reduced the risk of water ingress whilst works were undertaken and ensured residents’ access to their properties was reinstated quickly and efficiently.

As it is cold installed, Pro-BW® meets health and safety criteria by minimising risk to site operatives and local residents. With the challenge of a number of confined areas, Pro-BW® also offers a low odour application to provide the safest and most convenient solution on site.
